Why not a Courthouse Wedding

Who says a courthouse wedding has to be any less special. I think it can be just as beautiful and memorable as a grand wedding. It all depends on how you approach it. For sure, it's certainly a less stressful route and a lot more friendly for a budget. And you can probably squeeze a nice honeymoon in vs. blowing it on a formal wedding.

If I were to have gotten married in a courthouse, this is what I would've done. I would buy a lovely simply "tea length" wedding dress to show off some cute shoes, have the husband where a nice suit, pay for a gorgeous bouquet arrangement, and hire a good, professional photographer to document & follow us for the "whole day" and just have fun! And of course, only invite the closest family and friends to spend the day with us from the court room to the casual dinner setting.

Just look at these wonderful photos of court marriage weddings and the candid moments between these newlyweds. Like I always say, the photography makes the difference. It's not the couture wedding gown, the best venue, or the fresh florals, it's those split second moments that are captured and reflect who you are.

If you're planning a courthouse wedding, think about a tea length wedding dress. It's a little more casual than a long gown, but it still has edge and style. And what's nice about a shorter dress is that it's easy to move around in, and you can go about your full day shoot as the photographer follows you. Featured dresses are from Priscilla of Boston, Amsale and Eugenia.
