Let's have a Paper Party!

I have always been amazed by the versatility of paper – it's flexible, cut-able, dyeable, and you can print on it, too! The possibilities are endless, and it seems like everyday someone always finds a new way of taking advantage of its wonderful properties. I am a big fan of paper and after you see this post, I think most of you will be inspired, and you may want to incorporate it into your special events whether you buy it, or get a bit handy and do-it-yourself.

Paper Lanterns – hang them from the ceiling in color coordinated clusters to match your color palette. Perfect for your wedding reception to give it a cool ambiance. Or just use it for any special event like a wedding or baby shower. Don't forget to get multiple sizes and hang them at different levels.

Rice Paper Daisies – another fun paper shape that you can hang and create fun, dramatic scapes for your party environment. See how it's done here with paper garlands. Sooo unique and festive for a shower.

Paper Pom Poms – this paper idea is one of my all-time favorites and I will use it for one of my own parties one day. I just love the shape and texture. Unlike the paper lanterns, this is an easy DIY project. See Martha Stewart's instructions here. Again, coordinate with your party color palette and have fun with them.

DIY Paper Mobile – this is a very cool technique, and it's another DIY project. I see this for a baby shower with the lovely pastel colors, or for a 1-year old's first birthday party.

Map Garlands – this screams for a nautical party, or something worldly that deals with geography & maps.
